ACT Pre-Learner Licence Course offers new drivers the certification needed to secure their Learner's Licence from Access Canberra.

Face to Face by Fifth Gear's driving instructors -  A two Day Course, across two 5 hour sessions. 

Course

To secure a Learner's Licence in the ACT, it's essential to finish the Pre-learner Licence Course.

This program introduces you to the skills necessary for safe driving and educates you about potential road hazards.

Additionally, the pre-learner course offers insights into the procedures for acquiring both a Learner's Licence and a Provisional Licence.

How it works and eligibility

To attend and complete this course you must be over the age of 14. To start driving with a learner's license, you must be a minimum of 15 years and 9 months old. While enrollment and completion of this course can be done anytime prior to this age, age requirements must be met before licence issued by Access Canberra.

Here's the pathway to obtain your learner's license:

  • Enroll in our ACT Pre-Learner Licence Course.
  • Successfully finish the ACT Pre-Learner Licence Course.
  • Successful pass the Knowledge Test (with two free tries included in your course enrollment).
  • After completion, gather your documents and visit Access Canberra to receive your learner licence.

Day One: (Approximately 5 hours)

Day one consists of the following content:

  • INTRODUCTION.
  • MODULE 1 – DRIVE TO ARRIVE
  • MODULE 2 – PREPARE TO DRIVE

 

Day Two: (Approximately 5 hours)

Day two consists of the following content:

  • MODULE 2 – PREPARE TO DRIVE - Continued
  • MODULE 3 – DRIVE TIME
  • MODULE 4 – DRIVE RULES & TOOLS
  • ASSESSMENT - Including both the course assessment and the road rules knowledge test. 

 

Cost

Cost per student which includes both Day One and Two is $195

Included in this price is two attempts at the knowledge test, each additional test after that is charged at a rate of $45 and two attempts may only be completed in one day. 

Learning Resources

As apart of the Pre Learner Licence Course, it is important to understand the road rules. Please ensure you have a good understanding of road rules prior to attending the course.
