ACT Learner Driver First Aid Program

From 22 November 2023, Canberrans learning to drive have an opportunity to obtain basic lifesaving first aid skills and claim 5 hours’ credit against their required driving hours, when they do so.

Fifth Gear Motoring do not deliver the First Aid Program

There are eight approved courses are available, delivered either online, face-to-face or a combination of both. The time commitment and cost requirements for each course varies depending on the type and depth of content delivered.

Eligability 

Drivers must have held their learner licence for at least 3 months to enrol/book one of the approved courses. 

 

Hours towards your logbook

Learner Driver First Aid Programs that are approaved as apart of this initative from the ACT Governement will provide 5 hours towards the Learners Logbook.  

 

Documenting the hours in your logbook

To receive credits for the completion of a course, learner drivers must:

record the date they completed the course on the Optional Courses page 
record the credit hours, name of course provider, certificate number and course completion date on Page V (summary page of their logbook).
