With one in three P plate Drivers crashing in their first year driving solo, Fifth Gear Motoring offers an L & P PLate specific Defensive Driving Course aimed to reduce risk taking, improve attitude and awareness and increase emergency response skills.
The L & P Plate Defensive Driving Course covers the same content as our general Defensive Driving Course with an extra focus on inexperience, risk taking, driving under the influence and responsibility.
Although the issue and content are serious, our skilled and dymanic facilitators make the course a day of fun learning and as you can see from our feedback,and have changed the driving habits of many young Canberra drivers already.
Insurance
It is worth noting that although for the majority of the course a trainer will be in the car with each participant, all participants will be driving their vehicle unassisted for small parts of the course on the private property of the Driver Training Centre, so please check with your insurance company as to how you are covered for this.
NOTE: Always use the term "Defensive Driving Course" not "Advanced Driving Course" as there is a big difference in these two courses and what your insurer will and wont cover.

Local College Involvement
Fifth Gear Motoring is passionate about improving road safety and along with its work with Learner drivers, is currently working with a few Canberra Colleges and Parents and Friends Committees to offer subsidised Defensive Driving Courses to their students.
